I love podcasts, but I especially love podcasts on a Sunday morning while I'm making eggs and drinking coffee. Today I caught up on a few of my favorites, including an episode of The Memory Palace called Butterflies. I learned all about Thomas Midgley, Jr., who had a remarkable impact on the world through two separate developments: ethyl as an additive for gasoline, and chlorofluorocarbons for refrigeration. It really got me thinking about what it means to be at the forefront of a field, and how important it is to lead responsibly. It's worth a listen.
