RadioLab did a story a few months back on the cost and value of human life. The story focused on Zaltrap, which would extend a cancer patient's life by an average of 42 days - to the tune of $11,000 a month.  After pressure from oncologists, the cost dropped by 50%. Raises interesting questions about prescription costs, the way we ascribe value to things that seem priceless, and the role of activism in medical care.
