30-day challenges as motivators

It occurred to me today that short-term challenges done with a close friend (or 2 or 3) work very well as motivators for me. They keep me accountable without any nagging, they help me to establish habits, they are short enough to seem attainable, and they help me stretch.

Current challenges include this decluttering sprint from The Minimimalists (on day 4) and this plank challenge (on day 1). 

Maybe my next challenge will be a longer-term challenge to always have a short-term challenge in play.
